In this project, we are improving our English by studying the world of advertising. We are reading about the psychology behind marketing. We are also trying some of the “tools” that the advertising agencies use when they create their ads, posters or commercial films.

Poster and campaign idea
You will work in small advertising agencies where your job is to create a poster with a clear slogan and a campaign idea for a given product. In week 17, you will be asked to “pitch” your ideas – that is, try to sell your ideas to your class in an oral presentation where you use powerpoint.
When you explain your ideas to the class, I want you to present the following;
· Which product did you get?
· Present your target group. Age? Gender? Income? Is this a product they need or a luxury product?
· How is your poster related to the target group?
· What kind of campaign do you have in mind for this particular product? Where will you place your posters? In what magazines will you advertise? In what media? Any other strategies that you have in mind to seduce the target group?
Maximum time of speaking; 6 minutes. Everybody should participate.

Here, you will summarize what you know about advertising in general as well as the ideas behind your group’s work. What ideas and/or techniques are there behind the commercials and ads that we see daily? Also, explain in your own words your commercial poster and your campaign idea, and the ideas behind it.
In your essay, you should include at least 5 of the words on your word list. Also, hand in the word list together with the essays.
We will work on this short essay in class during week 17. Pernilla will give you feedback on your written language.
